every day is happy, but they are even happier in CA! :)

Hey loved ones,
We just got back from an amazing trip through CA. What a gorgeous and magical place. I never saw a cloud the entire time. We spent wonderful times with wonderful friends and even got some work done too. At one point early on, watching Amos pick a quince from a tree and start to devour it I wondered "Is this what the Garden of Eden was like?". And at the close of the trip with the sun was setting over Santa Monica I wondered "Is this what heaven is like?"
Yes, California is a happy place indeed.

Strawberries and cream

I don't think anyone really reads this blog so I think I'll use it as a safe place (as in I won't lose it) to jot down some nice memories. And if anyone happens upon this and reads, I hope you enjoy our little life and family...

I think I had one of the happiest and sweetest moments of my life tonight. Though now being a mama there are thousands to choose from. Simple setting: a bowl of strawberries with a big dollop of homemade whipped cream for the three of us to share. We all took turns having a bite from a big spoon and saying "hmmmmm!" after each bite. I was feeding everyone and then Amos wanted to try. He loved watching us take a bite that he had given us (well sort of). His face is sweeter than any berries and cream, than any thing or anyone I have ever known. sigh. love these days.

Hello again

This post is 6 months belated and I apologize! Though we've been having more and more fun as the months have progressed and less and less time for sitting at the computer which is actually awesome. We are having a blast this summer and feel like it's the first one we've ever taken the time to really enjoy. Brent keeps catching me tell people how happy we are in the city and in our apartment and neighborhood. ("I heard you do it again tonight..." what? "sound happy and content when you were talking to someone" oh, hee hee, I guess I am "I love it, but I need to get used to this new Sarah!")

Just being able to BE and to just be with my son around the hood and city, being able to watch airplanes fly by and feel what water feels like, it's all a gift and all what I think this old lady needed to get right with life. Our boy Amos is an amazing little human who never ceases to amaze. He started saying "Hi Doug" yesterday, so now he says Dada, often, Mama not so often, theword which sound like "Jacob Jacob" over and over and "Hi Doug" after his nap.

There's so much more I could write and I will soon, but I would actually rather go grab another cup of coffee (a regular staple anymore, crave it more than I used to crave wine) and go play with my boy. These days are going fast.

More to come. Thanks for your love and prayers,
Sarah and the boyz
